I am a resident of Portugal. How do I declare earnings received when filling in my tax return or annual income statement?

Investments made in projects with Portuguese promoters

In this case, at the end of the year, when filling in your IRS, you have nothing to declare because your earned interests are subject tax withholding by Daskapital, which in turn has already declared the withheld tax directly to the Portuguese Tax Authority (article 71 of the IRS Code). The withheld taxes should automatically appear in your annual income statement forms.

If you opt for bundling your earnings in Daskapital with your global income, you must declare the income obtained through investments in Daskapital in Annex E (Table 4B, with code E20) in your annual income statement.

Investments made in projects whose promoter has no fiscal headquarters in Portugal

In this case, Daskapital does not withhold taxes due on your earnings, so the investor should declare them in the annual income statement by including the Anexo J in your annual income statement to declare income earned abroad, namely capital income from investments through non-resident promoters.

If your tax residence is not in Portugal, you must declare your income at Daskapital in your country of residence. You can consult the tax guide (https://info.portaldasfinancas.gov.pt/pt/apoio_contribuinte/Guias/Paginas/default.aspx) for your country of residence, provided by the Portuguese Tax Authority.

In all cases, at the beginning of each year, you will receive a declaration for the previous year containing all necessary details.
